What is your cancellation policy?

We require 48 hours’ notice prior to the date of arrival for all motel cancellations. Failure to cancel within the specified notice period will result in one night’s accommodation being charged to the credit card held in our system for this booking. If you fail to arrive for your booking you will be charged one night’s accommodation. If your booking was for more than 3 days and you fail to arrive you will be charged 50% of the total booking amount.

What is your check-in and check-out times?

Check in is from 14:00 and check out is at 10:00.

Is your reception open 24 hours?

No. Our reception operating hours are from 7:00 to 18:00 during Summer and from 08:00 to 17:00 during Winter.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Mastercard, Visa and EFT POS. We do not accept Diners Club or American Express.

Are all rooms non-smoking rooms?

Smoking is not allowed in any of our Motel rooms.

Do you have baby cribs and high chairs?

Baby cribs and highchairs can be provided, but are subject to availability.

Are children welcome?

Children of all ages are welcome.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are not allowed.

Are there restaurants close to the Forgotten World Motel?

Conveniently located restaurants include Jasmine’s Cafe & Thai Restaurant, Taumarunui RSA Club Restaurant, Monsoons Indian Restaurant, Pizza K and McDonalds.

Is Forgotten World Motel located near the town centre?

Yes, it is only 300 metres away from the centre of Taumarunui.

Is Forgotten World Motel accessible?

Yes. The Motel offers wheelchair access and reduced mobility rooms. For specific enquiries, we recommend calling ahead to confirm.

How far is Forgotten World Motel located from major airports?

The motel is located 150km from Hamilton Airport (via SH 3 and 4) and 110km from Taupo Airport (via SH 1 and 41).

I love skiing, how far is Forgotten World Motel located from Mount Ruapehu?

Mount Ruapehu’s ski slopes are a mere 67km from Forgotten World Motel.

Is breakfast included?

Breakfast is not included, but can be added as an optional extra. This can also be arranged on arrival.

Can I book my Forgotten World Adventures tour through the Motel?

COVID-19

Forgotten World Motel is adhering to the Government's COVID-19 guidelines.

We’re committed to keeping our guests, our staff and our community safe, while continuing to provide exceptional service.

If you are feeling ill or presenting with symptoms of a cough, a high temperature (at least 38°C) or shortness of breath you MUST leave the site immediately and seek advice from the health line 0800 358 5453.

Anyone obliged to be in self-isolation will be unable to stay with us.

Forgotten World Adventures and Motel have robust COVID-19 policies to keep our staff and guests safe. These include staff staying at home if ill and a requirement to be tested, regular cleaning of communal areas and items.

We ask that you give other guests space and follow Forgotten World Adventures and Motel staff instructions.

Please practice good hygiene during your stay with us, there are hand sanitisers at reception and washrooms in all rooms.

Please do not be offended if our staff do not shake your hand, we still greatly value your business.
